This course provides a detailed study of the Maxims of Fiqh as presented by Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī. It explores the foundational principles and maxims of Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), offering a comprehensive understanding of their significance and application in Islamic law. Students will gain insights into the historical development and relevance of Qawaid al-Fiqhiyyah in interpreting and applying Islamic legal principles.
Students will learn:
• The core principles of Qawaid al-Fiqhiyyah and their role in Islamic jurisprudence.
• How these maxims guide the application of Fiqh in various legal and ethical issues.
• The historical development of Fiqh maxims and their relevance today.
• How these principles help in deducing legal rulings from the Quran and Sunnah.
Instructors:
Ustadh Saeed Hassan is a Graduate of the Imam Saud University from the Faculty of Shariah and has a Masters in Comparative Fiqh. He has over 10 years experience teaching Islamic sciences with a focus on fiqh and usul al-fiqh. He has taught primary Islamic texts in Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, Qawa’dul Fiqhiya, Aqeedah, Mustalah Hadith and others. He has also authored booklets on prostration for forgetfulness and Knowledge of inheritance.
