Shaykh Sharif Zain

Originally from Somalia, a land renowned for its deep connection with the Qur’an, Shaykh Sharif Zain Ali completed his memorization of the Qur’an at the age of 15. He holds a BA in Shari’ah from Mogadishu University and has earned Ijazah in Hafs ‘an ‘Asim and the Ten Minor Qira’at, both under the supervision of Sheikh Shoieb. With over 15 years of experience leading Tarawih prayers in South London, Shaykh Sharif currently serves as the Imam of Ibn Taymiyyah Masjid (Brixton) and heads the Qur’an Department at Madinah College. He teaches courses focused on Qur’an recitation, Tajweed, and Qira’at.
